Plesiosaur Art in the Shilou Xian, Shanxi Province, PRC
Note the “horns” on the plesiosaur handle found in 1959 in Shilou Xian, Shanxi Province in China. These are probably auditory-acoustic type receivers designed for submerged detection and tracking of fish.
Folks who see these kinds of animals seem to consistently identify “horns” on the animals observed.
As might be expected from the ever increasing discoveries on ancient artifacts, these animals were probably not as rare as we currently assume.
